At Proper Job we are passionate about continuously developing projects that excite us, fire our curiosity and expand our imagination.
2013 was an exciting year. We won the prestigious RPS Award for Learning and Participation for our large-scale production of Cycle Song. Cycle Song was developed and performed in 2012 in Scunthorpe as part of the Cultural Olympiad. In December, we collaborated with The Met, Bury for our annual family show, the Secret Garden. This was well received and an amazing experience for the local young people involved as they got a chance to perform alongside professional actors.
We saw over 300 successful learners complete our unique LAB project, which provides participants with the skills and confidence to progress to further training and employment. Finally, we continued to support over 200 young people with the provision of free space to do the things they love across Yorkshire through our regional delivery of somewhereto_.
2014 is looking to remain exciting with a collaboration with North Lincs based Duckegg of an original Proper Job piece, and a large scale promenade performance exploring people and place in Blackburn and Darwen as just a little taster of what you can expect.
We hope you enjoy exploring our website and finding out more about what we do.
