MEDUSA
Devised by Proper Job Theatre Company and Helen Mort
Written by Helen Mort
We are going to tell a story,
one that is not often told;
the story of a woman who exacts her revenge on the men that destroyed her
and the gods that cursed her.
We are going to tell the story of Medusa..the truth.
Following the success of Nosferatu (2015), innovative storytellers and theatre-makers Proper Job Theatre Company collaborate with award-winning writer Helen Mort. This contemporary and original script re-tells this classic myth from the point of view of Medusa, as the second part of the Monster Trilogy.
It is set to tour the UK, venues can be seen at: www.properjob.org.uk/medusa
Through dynamic movement and lyrical new writing, Proper Job’s Medusa sheds light on the softer side of the ‘monster’ we think we know. This powerful story has echoed throughout generations and through a contemporary setting, we see how her story is still important and relevant today.
